Over There

The wispy dark remnants of the drizzly day are dissolving to reveal a rich black velvet, strewn with the shards of shattered crystal.

Across a cobalt expanse of undulating liquid yawns the warm incandescent glow of a city in a foreign land.

A musky aquatic scent wafts through the air, a gentle crash of water over stone stifles the silence.

Do they know Him over there? Do they praise Him over there? Should I show them that I care?

A chaotic breeze whispers through the dry leaves, shifting their station at will, bringing an odd chill.

The melody of celebration floats over the wall with the thick aroma of seared meat.

A family and friends gathered to raise a glass and salute a loved one.

Do they know Him over there? Do they praise Him over there? Should I show them that I care?

The street vibrates with the hollow echo of a voice amplified  through the giant hall.

The soprano shrill of a thousand onlookers signal their allegiance to the team.

The explosive confirmation of a met goal shakes the foundations.

Do they know Him over there? Do they praise Him over there? Should I show them that I care?

What do you hear? What do you see? What do you smell? How do you care?
